Camels
I visited Lanzarote in 2006 with my wife, daughter, friends and their 2 daughters. We stayed in a villa owned by the friends which is in Puerto Del Carmen. One of the trips we went on was Timanfaya National Park (Fire Mountain), Lanzarote. It's a fascinating place that was created between 1730 and 1736 when more than 100 volcanoes covering over 50KM2 rose up to devastate this part of the island and several villages. The last eruptions were in 1842 but due to very little rain fall and lack of erosion the area looks much as it did just after the eruptions.

Itchy Fingers
The weather is still bad, raining most of the time and still cold. I've not had time to get out with the new kit but i will be out this weekend regardless of the weather.
This weekend the theme will be bridges across the Tyne. I'm going to try and stay away from the normal shots you see and try something different.
It should be fun....

Cold
Well winter finally made an appearance last night. It reached -4 and all the new growth in the garden has been desimated. Still it makes for some great photo opportunities.
Stay tuned....

New Year New Start
Well 2007 brings a new or should i say old hobby. Photography has always been something i've loved, be it looking at other peoples images or creating my own. After years of film SLR and then compact digital i've bitten the bullet and bought a digital SLR.
I went for the Canon EOS 400D, this was my first choice with the 350D a close second. The camera is an awesome piece of kit and should last me for years. I look forward to getting back out there and taking some great (and not so great photos).
I will update this Blog with photographs taken while on my travels. Please feel free to leave any comments, feedback is good.
